Go Baby Go

This program directly underpins our vision of empowering our children by providing them with mini-size vehicles! By putting them behind the wheel our children learn about transportation, develop a sense of autonomy, and have fun, which is of utmost importance to us and their families. It falls within our end-goal of helping them reach self-actualization by building a stronger sense of confidence and self-esteem.

Go Baby Go, inspired by James C. Galloway, PhD, FAPTA, began about a decade ago at the University of Delaware in the United States. Today it has spread to more than 30 locations in the US, and has recently expanded beyond borders. The aim of the program is to tailor commercial electric cars so that they can be used by children who have not yet managed to move independently, providing the motivation for movement, social inclusion and participation through the game.

With a vision to give all the children who need it the precious opportunity and the joy of independent travel we started Go Baby Go Greece.
ELEPAP Athens, leading once again and in cooperation with Go Baby Go Israel, held the 3rd Workshop in Greece on 3 November 2018 where it delivered the first four cars giving smiles to both children and their families. Eroism, Efremia, Artemis, Eugenia and Giorgos led the first specially adapted cars in the courtyard of ELEPAP, launching the new program of ELEPAP GO BABY GO GREECE.

Children are trained in independent movement, while being entertained through the game.

The physiotherapists and occupational therapists of ELEPAP were trained by the Go Baby Go Israel physiotherapists, both in terms of the know-how and the science of the program. Dr. Elenis Skoutelis, pediatrician and ELEPAP Infant Center Manager, will be the Program Manager.

The program was funded by donations in memory of Andreas Georgakopoulos.

This program's success necessitates the purchase of 20 miniature cars.

Goal: 20 mini size cars

Funding target: $ 30,000

2nd Workshop Go baby go

During the workshop, the volunteers, the therapists of ELEPAP, specially trained physiotherapists by Go Baby Go Israel, converted regular electric children’s cars. Five electric cars were adjusted according to the particular needs of the children, and were delivered to the families, ready for driving!
