ELEPAP operates six fully equipped Centers in Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Chania, Volos and Agrinio) with highly scientifically specialized personnel.
ELEPAP addresses all the developmental needs of each child with motor and developmental difficulties in a holistic approach fostering psychomotor development functionality, independence, speech and communication, cognitive abilities, emotional and psychosocial adjustment, learning skills, education, and social integration.
ELEPAP offers a series of holistic intervention programs for infants and pre-school age children and at the same time supports its children’s families creating a strong bond of trust and cooperation between the family members and the interdisciplinary scientific team. ELEPAP continually follows the international scientific developments, participates and organizes international congresses and meetings.
Last year, we cared for the needs of 1600 disabled children!
The ELEPAP Thessaloniki branch is the only non-profit welfare Rehabilitation Center in Northern Greece. Its mission is to cover holistically the treatment and rehabilitation needs of children with cerebral palsy and its symptoms.
Its beautiful green campus of 2,22 acres (9 stremas) is situated in the suburb of Elaiones, Pylaia, Thessaloniki. Two privately owned buildings, with a total surface of 3,000 m2, house all the services and activities provided to children from a very early age to early adulthood.
Its recently refurbished state-of-the-art therapeutic swimming pool provides therapy to most of the 240 children who attend its programs through its highly trained experts.
The Medical Team is headed by an orthopedic specialist (the Scientific Director), and is comprised of a pediatrician and volunteer doctors including, a neurologist, an oculist, and a developmental pediatrician, all specialized in childhood disorders.
The Scientific Team is comprised of a psychologist and a social worker (who provide psychological support and counseling to children and their parents), as well as a nurse, a bio-mechanist and the head of the therapeutic programs.

The branch of ELEPAP in Ioannina operates in Ioannina since 1981.
ELEPAP is a Registered Charity Organization which is supervised by the Ministry of Labor, Social Insurance and Social Solidarity. It is managed by an 11-member Board of Directors (volunteers).
It is a day-care center, which offers a series of therapeutic and psychoeducation programs, integration in society, for children from infancy up to 16 years old with cerebral palsy, psychomotor development, syndromes and developmental difficulties etc.
It offers:
• Daily Early intervention program for pre-school children with generalized developmental delay and pervasive developmental disorders
• Daily program of creative activities for adults with disabilities

Physiotherapy Intervention is designed to develop and improve children’s mobility and function, to promote their functional independence and increase their participation and social interaction.
3. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
The Department of Occupational Therapy in ELEPAP VOLOS aims at helping children with motor and other accompanying problems to reach the highest level of the functional independence physically, spiritually, psychologically and socially, taking into account the diagnosis, age and the seriousness of the environment of the child. For this purpose we use various intentional activities, with value and meaning, as games and special aids (tables, chairs, standers, splints of upper extremities) adapted for each case. In addition the electronic computer is used as a tool for communication, therapy and education.
The used specialized techniques in Occupational intervention are based on:

4. SPEECH THERAPY
The Department of Speech Therapy in ELEPAP VOLOS offers services to preschool and school age children with speech and/or language disorders of different etiology. The Department aims at the improvement of communication by training children and their caregivers in the use of alternative and augmentative ways of communication.
The speech therapy intervention aims at the development of the child’s communication skills with the use of formal and informal assessment procedures and different therapeutic methods in order to treat speech and language problems
